in memoriam of my father's passing first anniversary, signal generator

My father passed away on March 26th 2016. This post is not going to be his obituary or a curriculum vitae. It is just a glimpse on one of my reactions on the anniversary of his passing.

Among another things he was enthusiast of repairing old radio sets, his collection goes back to 20th century 40ties. Just imagine, you did not have electricity utility at your home back then and the only remote connection to the world was this apparatus working on batteries?

What I did, I decided to test if a signal generator he used for his hobby is still in a working condition. Here is the item for your observation.

I had a small challenge before I could turn it on. Electricity outlets has changed since.

A dirty hack happened.

And, surprise surprise, the old soviet made signal generator woke up without any problem! I'm giving you just a few of it's outputs on an oscilloscope as an evidence.

There is no more to this story today. As I said, just a glimpse. Which made my day because of simple emotional reasons.
